On the Spot: Bernhardt's Florian Cocktail Table

Bringing in an element of the "natural" to your outdoor or solarium furniture arrangement is a great way to add texture, while maintaining a neutral impact on your color scheme.

This table of natural water hyacinth from Bernhardt would be a great addition to your casual decor...

Ga-Ga for Garden Stools

When you're in the need for a small cocktail table, garden stools can be the perfect accent ... indoors or out....

When it comes to picking a garden stool, I tend to select one that has an interesting profile or detail, over the more smooth ones that don't feel as interesting.  If you're able to find one with an aged finish, or a wash in color, you just more interest, which is great when dealing with these little points of detail.

When on the hunt this week for a client, Decor-Decor proved to be a valuable source!

Happy Decorating!

Favorite Find Friday: Bamboo Bowls

As we deal with record breaking temperatures here in the concrete jungle, what better way to cool off than with a bowl of ice cream!

These playful dessert bowls from Bambu Home are not only the perfect size for a scoop or two, but because they are made out of coiled bamboo, they're shatterproof ... which is great when lounging poolside!

Have a great weekend!

David Collins

The design world lost a legend this week, when David Collins lost his battle with skin cancer.

As I spend a lot of time in London, where Collins was based, I had the pleasure of being able to surround myself in some of his most notable work: The Wollesley, The Blue Bar, The Delaunay, The Claridges Bar, The Bar at the Connaught and one of my all time favorites, the pagoda bar back at the Langham Hotel ...and the list of accomplishments goes on and on.

What drew me in and made me a big fan of his work, was the brilliant and seamless mix of materials, the sense of drama, yet always the feeling as though you belonged.

We will long be inspired ...

Four years in the making, French architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte craftily blended furniture with cooking...

The LaCornue W is a dramatic departure from conventional cooktops ... and writing desks for that matter!

Cooking or writing, this will one day, be mine!
