Osman Yousefzada

As fashion week comes to a close in New York, I can't help but be reminded of the Osman Yousefzada show I attended in London last May at the Victoria and Albert Museum, as part of their Fashion in Motion series.

Osman, born in the UK to Afghan parents, was inspired from an early age by his mother's dress making business.  His interest in fashion led him to study at Central Saint Martins in London and Osman was ultimately nominated for Designer of the Year in 2007.

Osman's work has also been showcased in the windows of Didier Ludot's Palais Royal Boutique in Paris.


Certainly a designer to watch!



And of course, the designer in me was well at work!  The 
Chihuly chandelier in the entry rotunda at the Victoria and Albert Museum is amazing!  I love the contrast between the colorful "modern" look of glass against the more traditional moldings within the dome.....
